Chilcotin Holidays

At Chilcotin Holidays we specialize in authentic wilderness experiences. From your connection with nature to the life lessons you’ll glean throughout your journey, everything is genuine.

An authentic encounter with nature, no matter how brief, has the potential to change a life. We work hard to harness all the opportunities that nature provides for enrichment, learning, and renewal. Our goal is to provide access to the pristine, rugged wilderness of the South Chilcotin Mountains, so you can fully immerse yourself in super-natural surroundings. As you engage in the stunning beauty and unpredictable challenges of the wilderness around you, you will discover both untapped strength and uncharted potential within.

We understand that everyone experiences nature in a different way, so we customize and personalize your wilderness adventure in a way that allows you to connect with nature on a deeper level.  If you’re craving a genuine encounter with nature, take a look at our trip options below.

Western Horseback Riding Holidays in BC, Canada: We offer guided mountain horse pack trip adventures and treks. These equine vacations are perfect for novice to expert riders. From overnight camping and horse pack trips to trail riding, wilderness guide training, wildlife safaris, and even winter riding vacations, you can do it all. Our equestrian vacations also include all-inclusive riding tours.

Hiking Adventures: Hike the mountains of British Columbia on guided multi-day alpine hiking trips and wilderness trekking tours. Set out on a Hut-to-Hut Hiking Adventure in the mountains with a trusty horse to carry your gear, or enjoy day hikes and walking tours from our guest ranch. All of our guided alpine camp hiking and mountain trekking adventures, hut-to-hut walking tours, and ranch based adventures are customized so you can enjoy hiking wilderness trails at your own pace.

Winter Predator Viewing: Stalk timber wolves and mountain lions, two of the most elusive predators in North America. During the winter when the days are short and food is scarce, the predators are concentrated in the wintering grounds of their prey, which include moose, mule deer, bighorn sheep and mountain goats.

Big Game Safari: View mountain goats, moose, mule deer, bighorn sheep, and black bears. Because each animal thrives in different habitats and displays unique behavioral patterns, we adjust our trip itineraries to match their patterns.

Grizzly Bear Viewing: These big game safaris are wildlife viewing at its best. Our nature tours offer many opportunities for wildlife photography, habitat research and observing grizzlies, including sows and their cubs in the wild. Trips are camp and ranch based, all-inclusive tours.

Wildlife Viewing: View grizzly bears, wolves, mountain lions, bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goats, deer, bobcats, lynx, coyotes and eagles in BC, Canada. These guided safari tours take place on horse back, on foot, or in vehicles.

Wilderness Guide Training Schools and Programs: Enter the ultimate outdoor classroom for future horseback guides, hike guides, angling guides, wildlife guides, adventure tourism operators, and survival skills specialists. Our guide training school, equine school, and other licensed guide outfitter training and wilderness survival education programs will prepare you for employment as a professional guide within the tourism industry. Even if you do not plan to pursue a career in the great outdoors, you can utilize these schools as a once-in-a-lifetime learning vacation that will build your confidence and strengthen your leadership abilities, all while you master an amazing new skill set.

Guided Fly-Fishing Vacations at BC Lodges and Resorts: Our freshwater trophy trout fishing is truly an unforgettable wilderness experience. If freshwater fishing is your sport of choice or your favorite hobby, try your hand at fly-fishing and spin casting in our freshwater lakes, rivers, ponds and streams. Your licensed angling guide will show you where to fish for wild rainbow trout, brook trout, dolly varden and kokanee. We will customize your fishing getaway to match your desired experience, whether you want a peaceful lakeside fishing retreat or an adventurous family fishing vacation.

Guided Backcountry Mountain Bike Tours and Adventures in BC, Canada: Located close to Whistler in the famed mountain biking territory of the South Chilcotin Mountain Park, our mountain biking adventures are the ultimate adventure. Choose multi-day cycling vacations based from our guest ranch or mountain alpine camps. Guided Multi-Day Backcountry Snowmobiling Tours and Winter Alpine Adventures in BC, Canada: One of the best ways to experience the Chilcotin Mountains in the winter, our ranch based tours and hut to hut adventures allow you to enjoy the thrill of powder sledding amidst stunning mountain ranges.

Skiing Vacation Packages in BC, Canada: We offer guided backcountry skiing, Nordic and telemark skiing, and cross-country skiing. Your custom skiing getaway can be structured as a hut-to-hut tour or a guest ranch ski-in and out with accommodation.
