FULL DESCRIPTION OF LISTING

The Laramie River Ranch dates back to the late 1800's and it is this heritage that is reflected in the lodge and five log cabins. While all the accommodations have been renovated to provide the comfort of modern amenities, they maintain the flavor and charm of the old west.

The Laramie River Ranch has a typical capacity of twenty five guests. Its small size allows their crew to give each guest their personal attention.

Horseback riding is the principal activity at any dude ranch! With a large string of riding horses, wranglers will pick out a horse to match the ability and personality of each guest. Wranglers take out small groups of riders for morning, afternoon and all-day rides across a tremendous variety of terrain. Instructional rides are available and guests are welcome to help groom and saddle their own horses if they please.

For those who would like to try their hand at cattle sorting, we have a lively team penning activity that is fun for all. We round up our steers, team pen with them for the day, and then lead them back to pasture for the night. It's a great opportunity to improve your riding skills while having lot of fun.

When you decide to climb down off your horse our naturalist will be there to offer you stimulating walks and hikes. You'll learn about the wide variety of plants and animals that share our mountain home. Birds, antelope, beaver, and your hand-picked herbal tea are sure to be topics of conversation at dinner. Other activities include tubing down the river, learning to swing a rope, orienteering, volleyball and horseshoes.

In the evenings guests can enjoy guitar music, cowboy poetry, or late night strolls to gaze at the start and learn about the mythology of the constellations.

Outdoor activities and fresh mountain air create healthy appetites. Whether it is on the trail or back at the ranch, meals are an event at the Laramie River Ranch. Delicious breads and desserts, fresh salads, fruits and vegetables, as well as delicious entrees keep guests coming back for more. Vegetarian and other special diets are not a problem with advance notice. In keeping with informal western tradition, meals are served family style.

The Laramie River Ranch prides itself on providing outstanding vacations for its guests. Come experience their hospitality and the great Rocky Mountains.

Horseback riding and time for relaxation.
