Hope you’ll take a Canadian horseback holiday. Here at the Homeplace Ranch you can choose to stay at the main ranch or our back country camp. Everything (meals, snacks, accom. riding, and ranch activities) is included in the prices shown.. Our ranch is nestled in the high foothills (4900’) of the Rocky Mountains between Calgary & Banff and our homeplace camp is right in the Mountains (6000’), about 90 minutes further south. Both are accessible from Calgarys international airport. At the ranch you will stay in our lodge which accommodates 12-14 guests in private room with private bath or at our rustic camp where we have 3 man frame cabins with built in bunks and wood stoves plus central showers and cookhouse. All meals, at both, are served family style with guests and staff eating together so you get to know everyone. Riding varies from Mountain valleys to high foothills, crossing numerous streams, mtn.meadows and old indian trails. This type terrain allows you the chance to periodically trot or canter if desired. We have 51 head of horses to satisy the expert to novice rider. A horse is given to you when you arrive. Our wranglers will spend time showing you how to become comfortable & work with your mount. If you wish , come out in the morning to help feed and groom. After a day in the saddle relax in our ranch jacuzzi or the creek at camp On weekends you can attend a rodeo or polo game. Calgary offers good nite life & dancing. If fishing and connecting with nature is your area of interest, camp has 3 nearby lakes with grayling and rainbow and willow creek is at your doorstep with brookies and rainbow trout. At present we have space available for the 2001 season. As this changes rapidly, we suggest making your reservations in the near future by phone or fax. Meals served family style. Outdoor steak BBQ on Sat.or Sun. evening. Large ranch breakfast with lunch on the trail around the campfire. Can accom. vegitarians. Food is important.
You can ride for all day or just the morning. Over 50 head of horses to choose from. High cattle country..ridges and creek bottoms, some meadows to canter or trot in. Good views of the Rocky Mtns.
