The Running-R Guest Ranch is located in the heart of the Texan Hill Country. The 230 acre ranch is located right next to a 5,500 acre State Park, which offers miles and miles of trails in the mostscenic and unspoiled nature of Texas. If it’s steep hills or rocky canyons, clear creeks or flat areas covered with a colorful variety of wildflowers, the landscape shows the finest for horseback riders, hikers or bikers. Horseback riding is the biggest attraction on the ranch. With approximately 35 horses available for various levels of riders the Running-R Ranch offers the best horseback riding program in the entire area. Guests can choose from a relaxed one hour ride on the ranch up to a five hours tour into the State Park with a picnic lunch provided to eat on the trail amidst a breathtaking scenery. For those guests who want to improve their riding skills lessons are available in the large arena. After a busy day with all the activities at the ranch or nearby it might be time for some two-stepping or waltz in one of the unique honkytonks and dancehalls in Bandera, the “Cowboy Capital of the World”. At the ranch evenings are more quiet and relaxing. The rocking chairs invite guests for a little talk with the staff and the hosts, watching the horses and cattle graze peacefully. Time to enjoy the most spectacular sunsets and the Running-R Ranch is the place to experience it. Enjoy your holiday at a place where you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend!
