Situated at the base of the South Warner Mountain Range and the majestic Eagle Peak and Saddleback Mountain to the east, Mahogany Ridge Guest Ranch is a 607 acre cattle ranch in high desert country in scenic Jess Valley, Modoc County, California. Its elevation is 5,280 feet. Approximately one-half of the ranch is timberland and one-half is flood irrigated pastureland. Located in the northeastern most part of California and 32 miles southeast of Alturas, the county seat off Highway 395 to the south, guests will enjoy breathtaking views of the lush, grassy pastureland of Jess Valley before a backdrop of wooded timberland from their very private vacation home.

Established in 1910, and once a crude cabin, the Homestead House is a 1,648 sq. ft. 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with fireplace decorated in rustic lodge style. In addition to the 9' wide brick fireplace with raised hearth, the living room contains an entertainment center housing a 32" digital color T.V. with VCR, DVD player, stereo & CD system. The house is also equipped with satellite and local telephone service. One wall of floor to ceiling window bathes the room in light making it a comfortable spot to curl up with a good book or if you prefer, just take in the miles of breathtaking view of Jess Valley and the Warner Mountains.

If you are planning the celebration of a special occasion during your stay with us such as a birthday or an anniversary and would like the services of a caterer, Dixie and Co. Caterers owned and operated by Dixie and Duane McGarva, are headquartered right in Jess Valley for all your catering needs. Perhaps your stay at Mahogany Ridge will be packed with so many exciting activities you'd rather not cook. That's alright, too. Dixie and Co. will prepare any meal from breakfast to dinner for you. They can also pack picnic or brown bag lunches. Their convenient location neighboring Mahogany Ridge Guest Ranch enables fast and easy delivery of any meal you could desire.
