The farm is an exciting place to be any season of the year. No matter which season is your favorite, there are activities to enjoy all year long. There is something for everyone - singles, couples and families. Children especially enjoy collecting eggs from the chickens, feeding the ducks and other farm animals. The farm experience is an excellent opportunity for quality time together. Come and be a part of the family, and come home to Shangrila - our paradise on earth!
Horseback riding is the featured activity at Shangrila Retreat. However, the majority of guests start with little to no riding experience. All rides are guided and accompanied by experienced trail guides. You choose the kind of outing that best fits your schedule - anywhere from a one to two-hour morning or evening ride, or an all-day ride with lunch on the trail. This is determined by your group and what you are comfortable with.
Shangrila Retreat provides a family oriented atmosphere in a country setting. Take the time to slow down and enjoy life..... and take the memories with you of a lifetime!

The Old Home Place was built in 1801. It has 3 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and fireplace, one with a full bed and fireplace, and one with two twin beds. In addition, it has a kitchen, living room with fireplace, bathroom, washer and dryer. The home provides a haven for visitors to relax, whether on the porch overlooking the herb garden or in the hammock for afternoon snoozes. Cozy up to the fireplace, relax and reminisce. Pastures surround the house and the ducks are waiting for you on the stocked pond nearby!
The Log Cabin, sits tucked in the woods and is ideal for accommodating a couple. It has a full bed, full bathroom, open kitchen and living area with beds in the loft. A small pasture lies in front of the cabin surrounded by trees.
The Packhouse, formerly used as a packing barn for tobacco many years ago, provides lodging for an individual, couple or small group. The backside of the upper floor is a private efficiency which will accommodate an individual or couple. It has a queen bed, bathroom and small kitchen area. It also has a private deck that overlooks the pond and pastures.
The backside of the Lower Level of the Packhouse provides rustic accommodations with two twin beds. A bathroom with shower is located at the side of the building for guests use. The front side of upper level provides bunkhouse type accommodations for youth groups or small groups.
