Accommodation Description:
When you visit Latigo, you will stay in one of our ten comfortable guest accommodations. We have two basic styles; six guest suites have 3 bedrooms and the other four have 1 bedroom. It is great to have a cozy place with a good bed to rest after a full day of outdoor activities. All of the accommodations are well appointed with comfortable furniture and handsome and original artwork. Each guest unit has a refrigerator for your personal needs and snacks. It is stocked with complimentary soft drinks. There is a coffee maker, and hair dryers are available. All of the bathrooms are configured with a tub/shower combination. Daily we clean your room and change your towels as needed. We also keep your container of homemade caramel corn topped off. The chairs on your porch afford a location where you can read when not riding or just sit to soak in the Rocky Mountain beauty The three-bedroom suites, geared for families of 4 to 6 in number, include a separate sitting room and single bathroom. An extra vanity with sink is also located in the master bedroom. These cabins are modern log structures. The accommodations are fully-carpeted, except for the tile floors in the bathrooms, and they have electric baseboard heat in each room. For the fun of it, there is also a woodburning stove in the sitting room that can be opened and used as a fireplace. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom and a full size double in the other bedrooms. For larger families, a couple of these suites employ a bunk bed in lieu of one of the full size beds. These suites are constructed with two separate guest accommodations per building, each guest family having a private entrance and porch at opposite ends of the building. Couples and families of three enjoy the single-bedroom accommodations, which are of two styles. Two of these guest units have a separate sitting room and bathroom. The other two consist of a single larger room with attached bath. These accommodations are also carpeted and have tile floors in the bathrooms. All four have fireplaces in addition to the electric baseboard heat. There is a fold-out couch that makes up into a bed providing additional sleeping space when needed in any of these four accommodations. All of these guest units are in the same log sided building. Each unit has its own porch and outside entrance.
Cuisine:
Our food is suburb, but meals are much more than food. While you dine at tables with other guests, you will find time for conversation reviewing the adventures of the day – the new vistas, beautiful forests and wide open spaces, your first time trotted on horseback, new things learned about how cowboys really rope, how your children love the freedom and new-found friends. There are smiles, jokes, and laughter. You might even regale your table with your mighty feats flyfishing for the first time. Meal times provide opportunities to deepen relationships with family and friends. Our kitchen creates home-made, healthy, tasty, fresh, hearty and wholesome meals for your enjoyment. Many families on vacation are plagued with the decision of when, where, and what to eat three times each day. At Latigo, you don’t have to cook and you don’t have to make any big decisions; this makes it a real vacation for everyone. You will be outdoors and active several hours each day; meal times enable you to refresh and replenish. Some of you want big hearty meals. Others are looking for lighter fare. Many choose vegetarian options. Our meals offer variety to accommodate those differences. We are not pretentious about our food or its presentation. Although we know that you dine with your eyes before you even take the first bite, we also know that you want ample portions and tasty dishes. You will not be served a ridiculously artistic plate with decoratively swirled colorful sauces that has only a single mouthful of food on it. We will meet special dietary needs. We have accommodated those seeking vegetarian, kosher, gluten free, low carb, or low fat meals, and those with allergies to certain foods. For breakfast every morning you will have great variety. The buffet will have fresh fruit, a variety of juices, cereals, dried fruit, nuts, bran, and yogurt. Then, from the kitchen you may choose our famous breakfast burrito, pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham, toast, bagels, and/or oatmeal. At lunch, the salad bar and sandwich bar offer many choices. In addition, the hot entrée for that day might be something like pasta with a selection of sauces, barbeque ribs or chicken, make-your-own burritos, homemade pizza, French dip sandwiches, crab stuffed croissants, or wraps. You will have opportunity to top the meal off with some of our homemade cookies or dessert bars. With linens on the tables, the evening meal is presented either buffet style or individual plate service. The dinner breads and salad dressings are all homemade. Here are some sample dinner menus: 1) Prime rib roast or hallelujah halibut, baked Idaho potatoes with all the fixings, green beans almandine, broccoli cheese rolls, baby spinach salad with kiwi fruit and a raspberry vinaigrette, and mocha torte with heath bar chips for dessert . 2) Rosemary and orange glazed pork tenderloin or medallions of yellow fin tuna with teriyaki, brown basmati rice, steamed fresh asparagus, molasses oat bread, spring mix greens with honey mustard dressing topped with toasted pinion nuts
