Your new day begins with a hearty breakfast in the McGarry Ranch house with owners Theron and Jean McGarry. About 8 AM, we head out to the horse carrols, catch up your mount for the day, saddle up and head for the mountains. You will work along with our wranglers to complete the days orders previously laid out by the cow boss. Experience the thrill of riding in the Big Hole Range of the Rocky Mountains, digging cattle out of the brush, checking pairs, tracking and gathering strays, experience roping and doctoring cattle in the open. Sorting stock on the wide open plains, great practice for you team penners.
Your safety and enjoyment are uppermost in our minds. Our goal is to ensure your vacation is one that you will always treasure in your memories. Our cowboys will help you learn to rope, work cattle and ride safely. Feel free to join in the work or just go along for the ride, which is by no means a nose to tail affair. Our wranglers are licensed Idaho guides and professional working cowhands, not part time summer help. Arrive a guest and leave a member of the McGarry Ranches Family of Wranglers from many parts of the world. Work our herd of approximately two thousand head on approximately fifty five thousand acres. Our ranch owner, Theron McGarry, is a forth generation cowboy. He can really tell you what the early days on the range was like. Sorry Theron.
