This is not your typical Guest Ranch and a very unique place. The accommodations and level of personal attention are boutique-like. With a culinary schooled chef the food is Western gourmet. The Hideout prides itself on being a premier riding and working cattle guest ranch. This is not a nose to tail ranch. There are miles of amazing scenic trails to ride on private, National Forest and BLM land in a variety of scenery and you won't ever see the same trail twice. Experienced riders will find the horses of exceptional quality and beginning riders will find the staff very patient and accommodating. Guests have the opportunity to participate in an authentic working cattle and cowboy experience. Many of The Hideout's experienced staff are year-round, which makes them very personable, knowledgeable and experienced with the area. Safety sets The Hideout apart and great attention is paid to hiring excellent staff, quality of horses, maintenance of equipment, communication, safety training, etc. During cattle work, guests are guaranteed plenty of time on horseback as they move hundreds of head of cattle across 250,000 acres of range. Other activities include natural horsemanship clinics, fly-fishing with an expert guide, trap shooting, archery, hiking, scenic 4x4 vehicle tours and trips to the Cody Nite Rodeo. The Hideout has no dedicated children's program because we believe that family vacations should be a learning experience with children and parents sharing a fun time together. The Hideout has an age limit of 8 years old to visit. During the summer season families with older kids will find The Hideout not only a fun and exceptional vacation but the entire family will learn and share new experiences together. Outside of the summer months, The Hideout is mostly adult oriented. Wonderful food, fine horses, great adventures, and genuine Western hospitality all await you at The Hideout.
The Main Lodge is at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains (4200 ft) and is surrounded by 5 luxurious and comfortable cabins (15 rooms). At our main lodge, we have a hot tub, a trap shooting facility, and our barn along with a professional size arena. Along with these accomodations The Hideout offers additional choice in more upscale accommodation at The Hideout Home.
