When a pet is truly part of our family, having a vacation experience without them may just not feel right. Or, it may be that due to the personality of our pet, including their physical or emotional wellbeing, perhaps they can not be entrusted to the care of a reputable boarding facility. In such cases, many people opt to keep their pets with them. If a vacation is a vacation only if our pet is along for the ride, the good news is that many dude ranches are pet friendly. With each pet friendly dude ranch, the policies as to permissions regarding pets will vary. Some dude ranches have a weight restriction and usually there are specific areas pets may not be allowed to enter. As well, there are likely other ‘house rules’ in place to preserve the comfort and safety of all guests. Often, additional charges may be incurred on a per night basis for pets to be accommodated at the dude ranch. Rather than having a negative, or potentially costly experience due to an unclear understanding of pet policies, when considering bringing a pet to a dude ranch it is best to speak to them in advance if you have any concerns specific to your pet.
